January 2022 Update

January letter

Happy new year!

Well, I started this letter about four times. We are healthy…we’re not healthy….I have a cough, I don’t have a cough. Kellys Covid tests come back negative and then positive. I’m confused. So how about this? When in doubt, copy Paul.

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ!

There,  that should cover it. And today we are healthy!

Kelly and I stay close to home but keep busy. Our Christmas present to ourselves was tickets to Lion King followed by a weekend with Kelly’s sister in Grand Lake. Spent a quiet Christmas and New Year’s at home sleeping and watching too much of college football. (We don’t mention the Broncos around here anymore! However, I will talk about the Avalanche. ) We finally saw our show, Waitress, that was delayed because of the pandemic and are looking forward to the rest of the the Broadway season in Colorado Springs.

I finished my first seminary class with a B+ and looking forward to my two theology classes starting in February. Already started reading the books…I love this stuff. My New Testament class wasn’t my favorite and I went into the “just get it done” mode. I enjoyed a couple of workshop/face to face things with Asbury during the fall, and I have more in person classes this spring.

The ministry is still in transition but we’re rounding the corner toward a sufficient change and focus. Our long time security and chief bottle washer stepped down in December. We are moving forward with developing a website with all of our Bible studies and books, blogs, and forums. This will take the ministry back to its roots by working with the local church and strengthening families affected by disabilities.

The other big change will be online giving and receipting. This is also in the testing stage, and I’m told it will be up and running by the end of February. Let me know if you are interested in supporting my ministry through an online bank transfer.

I’m excited about the possibilities. This has been my original version for ministry and I can’t wait to see where the Lord takes it.

PRAYER REQUESTS

  • I am scheduled for surgery on January 28 for baclofen pump replacement (this is a constant flow of muscle relaxer that helps with controlling my tone.) Prayers for health protection, medical team, recovery, etc.
  • Good start with my theology classes starting February 7th. Focus on study as well as ministry especially with my students, blogs, and other ministry partners.
  • Quality time with Kelly and a deeper connection especially as I take my seminary classes.

Cheers to you and your family. God bless.
